Vara's offers a variety of family and group houses perfect for a holiday getaway at budget prices, ranging from ONE, TWO, THREE and large FOUR bedroom houses starting from popular and stunning Muri Beach, stretching up to our private hillside estate and along the beach of Muri Beach into the next village.

Muri Beach - Beachfront

The Beach House is situated right on popular Muri Beach with private rooms and shared facilities.  Vara's has a couple of self-contained Beach Houses on Muri Beach but get in quick as these are sold months in advance.

Private Hillside Estate (Muri Beach)

Our 6 acre hillside estate is set in lush tropical gardens with no through road offering complete privacy.  It consists of private stand-alone fully furnished houses between 6 - 8 min to walk to Muri Beach and our main Beach House.  All guests staying at any of Vara's houses are more than welcome to full use of our main Beach House facilities.  BBQ facilities are also available on the hillside.  Please note NO towels are provided but all other linen (sheets, blankets, tea towels...are provided).  All hillside houses are serviced 6 days.

All houses are within easy walking access to restaurants, cafes, shops and dairies, scooter and car rentals, as well as activities in Muri Beach.

Bungalow

We have a two bedroom fully self-contained cosy hillside BUNGALOW with TV/lounge area, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom facilities.  It has a lovely outdoor veranda with partial sea views. This Bungalow is about 6 to 8 min walk to Muri Beach and our main Beach House and can take max 5 - 6 pax. Popular with small families or a couple of friends wanting privacy and a home away from home.

Lodge

Above the Bungalow is our hillside 2 bedroom flat called the LODGE.  It has full facilities with views from both rooms and there is no lounge area. There is however a huge veranda over stretching the flat and rooms with breathtaking ocean and village views that you can sit out and dine from. Max 6 pax.

Cottage

Directly overlooking the pool, the Cottage is slightly above the Bungalow to the side and is a lovely cosy 3 bedroom fully furnished house.  Very homely feel to it offering 3 bedrooms upstairs with a large bathroom/toilet, kitchen and TV/lounge area, as well as outdoor veranda.  There is a fourth bedroom downstairs which is a self-contained ONE bedroom granny flat with FULL facilities (spacious TV lounge area, bathroom and kitchen facilities and small outdoor veranda). Great for families travelling with grand parents or parents as they can have privacy downstairs without being away from the family.  Takes max 10 people upstairs and 3 downstairs.

Granny Flat

This can be rented solely for 2 or 3 people, with a 4th person able to go into lounge area.   Has full facilities and is one bedroom flat with pool views.

Apartment

This is a 3 bedroom large fully furnished house in between the Bungalow and Lodge of our hillside estate.  One room has ensuite facilities and the other 2 rooms share a bathroom next to the lounge area.  There is a large lounge area with TV/DVD, large kitchen and veranda overstretching the house.  Can take max 12 to 15 pax.

Grand View Lodge

This is our superior hillside beautiful double-story house perched on the topside of our private hill estate.  There is the option between 2 bedrooms for max 6 pax living upstairs with full facilities including large dining room, TV/lounge area, 2 bathrooms and a huge well equipped kitchen with a 5 metre veranda overstretching the whole house.   There are also 2 bedrooms downstairs with its own kitchenette and toilet, with large veranda.  In total this 4 bedroom house can take up to 12 pax.  The house and its facilities are of superior quality giving the feeling of being in an exclusive Villa.  Extremely spacious with large kitchen, separate dining room and TV lounge area.  The view from this house is breathtaking with full village and ocean views.

Villa

Is similar set up to our Grand View Lodge with 4 bedrooms (2 ensuite rooms and 2 standard) but all one level.  Max 12 pax

Ocean Front Surf House - Arikis

This is a stunning and extremely spacious 4 bedroom Ocean front House called ARIKIS which is situated in the village next to Muri Beach (about 1.5km). This house is extremely popular with families and groups and has 2 large bathrooms and toilets, a huge TV/Lounge area, Dining area as well as super spacious fully equipped kitchen.  There are 2 large veranda's, one facing the oceanfront and one facing the mountain side.  It is perched right on the sea front with the pacific waves breaking in front of the house.  Perfect location for Rarotonga's seasonal whale watching.  Discover the reef life or bring your own reel for fishing right in front of your house.  Take a 5 min walk and you will be in a great surfing spot next to Avana harbour (where our local fishermen fish or take tours out).  Absolute private house with sun chairs, hammocks, and BBQ.  Internet facilities onsite with a large book shelf. Please note this house is self-service cleaning and no towels are provided.  Extremely popular with people wanting space, privacy and a HUGE home away from home...  Max 20 pax.

Rates

Rates are dependant on the amount of people, duration of stay and time of year.  Transfers of more than 6 pax is NZ$8.00 pp pickup only.

All guests staying at any of Vara's houses are more than welcome to full use of Beach House facilities including Beach Volley ball, Beach Hut (aquatic rental gear), huge beach Sun Deck right over beautiful and popular Muri Beach (with sun chairs and tables), internet facilities, BBQ, laundry, outside shower, free safe, baggage storage, communal lounge area, kitchen and toilets as well as direct access to Muri Beach with free parking.

Vara's also offers fully self-contained Beach Studios from $90pn and studio style stand-alone hillside bungalows are on offer from NZ$79 per couple per night.  Vara's has some new one bedroom absolute beachfront Honeymoon Bungalows available for couples from NZ$150pn, as well as offering specials through Vara's to some 4 star resorts on Muri Beach starting from NZ$199pn. We also have cheaper options in our backpacker style accommodation.
